Virginia Beach OUR NEW LOCK INSTALLATION SERVICES
Call upon our nationally renowned locksmiths when you need new locks installed for your home or business!
Installing a quality solid door lock is the first step to keeping your home or office properly secured. Old locks are often the weakest point in any security setup, as they can be rusted, too many previous users may have had access to keys, or other issues. Making sure that your keys are yours and are up to date is the most important part of maintaining your security. Too many homeowners and businesses forget about security in their planning, putting all of their investments at risk. Perfect security is nearly an impossible goal, but through both planning smartly and making sure to properly assess risk, you can be at ease, without having to worry about leaving your home or business alone when you choose to spend time apart from it. But everything begins with the obvious. Are your door locks secure, or is it time to replace them?
WHEN IT'S TIME TO CHANGE YOUR LOCKS
Whether you are a home or business owner, unless you built your property from the ground up, chances are high that there was a previous owner. Most people simply hand over the keys to the next tenant or owner, and the keys never get changed. In such a case, there is a strong possibility that the keys were copied. There's a possibility that in fact there could be dozens, if not hundreds of keys milling about that could open the doors to your home or business. It's very possible no one actually knows how many copies of a set of keys there are. And that's only one of the many situations where one should consider installing a new set of locks for their home or business. Others examples include:
- As part of your home or office renovations
- When your locks are simply old, outdated or damaged
- Divorce, death, or a new tenant
- Moving to a new home
- If your vehicle was broken into and a copy of the keys were taken
- Your keys are lost or stolen
- After a break-in that damages your lock
- When your previous employee 'forgets' to return the office keys
- When you have to relocate to a new office
- A roommate moved out but retained possession of the keys
- When you need to upgrade your security system
When it's time to install new locks for your home or for your office for any reason (or your vehicle, for that matter) our expert locksmiths are here to help for your next lock install.
LOCK REPLACEMENT SERVICES
We Do Both Home and Office Lock Installation
The first step to updating your locks is to call our offices so that we can do an initial security inspection. We take into account variables such as style, possible weak points in security, and finally, the individual budget for the work. Although we work so competitively that our prices are the lowest that you can find anywhere in the country, we also have a number of different options for people and businesses who don't have the latest advances in security planned out in their budget. Often a good solid deadbolt and quality modern alarm system will do the job just fine.
While many people will see security as simply heading down to the hardware store and buying a deadbolt on sale, this is never a good idea. In the first place, you have to know how to install a lock properly. In the second, you have to know which lock will fit which door. And if you don't install the lock properly it may not function as it's supposed to, thus providing diminished protection for the place it was installed. Because we have the experience and the know-how, our professional locksmiths can make sure your home or business is secure instead of hastily cobbled 'do it yourself' solutions.
Car Lock Installations and Changes
Our services aren't just limited to homes and businesses-- we also install car door and trunk locks through our car lock replacement service. Our expert locksmiths are ready and equipped with all the tools necessary, 24 hours a day when your security needs it most when a vehicle needs rekeying or new locks. No matter what model or year your car or what security system you need for your vehicle, we specialize in all forms of vehicle security and can get the job done where you are.
WHAT TYPE OF LOCKS DO WE SERVICE?
The long-time standard of personal and business security, the deadbolt lock is familiar to everyone. Most homes and many businesses are equipped with locks that are built into the door and the wall. Of course, newer technologies help to offer even more security such as digital locks, but the deadbolt for at least some time remains the most common lock technologies (though we are equipped to set up even the latest technological advances in security.) We service a variety of brands of locks, including:
- Master Lock

While similar to deadbolt locks, Mortise Deadlocks add an additional layer of security by providing security on both sides of the door. If someone manages to pry a door open enough or get their hand around the knob of a deadbolt lock, they can get through. By contrast, a Mortise Deadlock system requires a key on both sides of the door, meaning that one cannot open the door on either side without a key. Because of their design they also usually use stronger mechanisms in the door and the frame, meaning that they usually also last longer than the standard deadbolt mechanism. We use the top brands for Mortise Deadlock systems in the industry, such as:
High-Tech Lock Systems: the Latest in Security Technology
In recent years, locks have moved whole generations in design. Not only are newer lock systems often more secure than key systems (using a variety of verification methods, they are also cheaper to replace than older key systems.
The immediate successor to the physical key, the keycard system is designed to make security simpler on the user end. Instead of a key (though physical keys can also be placed as backups), keycards allow the user to swipe to enter. They can have multiple points of access so that access can be restricted from one area for some users and are both programmable and reusable, meaning that an ex-employee can be locked out, even if he steals a keycard.
Keypad systems, like keycards, can be used to limit access to certain users. However, a keycard is not even necessary-- all that is needed is a programmed code for the user to get through. (They can also be used in conjunction with keycards for added security.)
Fingerprint and Retina Scans
The ultimate in home and business security, fingerprint systems limit opening of the doors to specific individuals in the system. Virtually impossible to beat, fingerprint locks make it impossible to get into an area unauthorized. While the expense is considerably higher, only thieves and crooks on the level of comic book villains and international spies are going to even try to get through.
Mobile Phone App Compatible Systems
Virtually all of today's modern lock systems can be made compatible with phone apps that will alert owners where someone is on your property. With real-time alerting, you have the comfort of knowing when and where everyone in the building is at all times. These locks are capable of working through Wi-Fi and wired systems, and not only will they notify you when you aren't home of attempts to break-in, but the police can also remotely be notified. (After that, make use of our emergency locksmith service.)
The best part of this is that with the speed with which these new locks developed and advances in technology, prices are continuing to drop and become more in line with the prices of more traditional security systems.
